Service Reminder

Call your Lennox service technician if the unit will not oper- ate. Before calling, always check the following to be sure service is required:

1 − Check that electrical disconnect switches are ON.

2 − Check room thermostat for proper setting.

3 − Replace any blown fuses or reset circuit breakers.

4 − Gas valve should be ON.

5 − Air filter should not be plugged, which will limit air flow. 6 − Is gas turned on at meter?

7 − Is manual main shut−off valve open?

Record the model and serial number of the furnace. These numbers are on the unit nameplate, which is located on the blower deck below the combustion air inducer.

Safety Precautions

If you discover any of the following, shut down your unit, and contact a Lennox dealer for an inspection by a licensed professional service technician (or equiva- lent).

D If you repeatedly hear any new or unfamiliar sounds while your unit is operating, there may be a problem. For example, poorly performing burners can produce unfa- miliar noises.

DIf you smell any unusual odors, your unit may be operat- ing improperly. For example, units can give off unfamil- iar odors if components are required to operate in ab- normal conditions.

DLook for visible signs of a malfunctioning unit. Examples include unusual amounts of condensate on windows in- side your house, visibly burnt components or unusual dirt or rust accumulations on the vent pipe or in the unit.

DIf you experience headache, nausea, fatigue, or dizzi- ness, the cause could be exposure to carbon monoxide gas. This is often misdiagnosed as the flu because symptoms are similar. If you suffer from flu−like symp- toms that are exaggerated at home, but seem to sub- side while you are away from the house, exposure to carbon monoxide could be the cause.

Your vigilance may pay off in early detection of a problem before either personal injury or property damage occurs. Do not hesitate to contact a qualified service technician as an investment in your well being.

Planned Service

You should expect a service technician to check the follow- ing items during an annual inspection. Power to the unit must be shut off for the service technician’s safety.

Fresh air grilles and louvers (on the unit and in the room where the furnace is installed) − Must be open and unob- structed to provide combustion air.

Burners − Must be inspected for rust, dirt, or signs of water.

Vent pipe − Must be inspected for signs of water, damaged or sagging pipe, or disconnected joints.

Unit appearance − Must be inspected for rust, dirt, signs of water, burnt or damaged wires, or components.

Blower access door − Must be properly in place and pro- vide a seal between the return air and the room where the furnace is installed.

Return air duct − Must be properly attached and provide an air seal to the unit.

Operating performance − Unit must be observed during operation to monitor proper performance of the unit and the vent system.

Combustion gases − Flue products must be analyzed and compared to the unit specifications.

Problems detected during the inspection may make it nec- essary to temporarily shut down the furnace until the items can be repaired or replaced.

Pay attention to your furnace. Situations can arise be- tween annual furnace inspections that may result in unsafe operation. For instance, items innocently stored next to the furnace may obstruct the combustion air supply. This could cause incomplete combustion and the production of car- bon monoxide gas.

EL195UH SERIES, Gas Furnace specifications

The Lenox EL195UH Series gas furnace is an efficient and reliable heating solution designed to provide exceptional comfort in residential settings. With a focus on performance, efficiency, and advanced technology, this furnace has become a popular choice among homeowners looking for a dependable heating system.

One of the standout features of the EL195UH Series is its high efficiency rating. With an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) rating of up to 95%, this gas furnace converts a significant portion of fuel into heating energy, minimizing waste and reducing energy costs. This efficiency not only benefits homeowners financially but also contributes positively to the environment by lowering greenhouse gas emissions.

The furnace incorporates a two-stage gas valve, which allows for greater temperature control and comfort. This technology enables the furnace to operate at a lower heating capacity during milder conditions, ensuring consistent temperatures while saving energy. When the temperatures drop, the furnace can ramp up to its higher capacity, providing the necessary warmth quickly and efficiently.

Another key characteristic of the Lenox EL195UH is its quiet operation. Equipped with a variable-speed blower motor, this furnace operates more quietly than traditional models. The motor adjusts its speed according to the heating demands, which not only enhances comfort through more even air distribution but also reduces noise levels in the home.

The EL195UH Series is designed for durability and longevity. It features a robust heat exchanger, constructed from high-quality materials that withstand the rigors of constant heating and cooling. Additionally, the furnace comes with a limited lifetime warranty on the heat exchanger, providing peace of mind to homeowners regarding their investment.

To enhance convenience, the EL195UH Series is compatible with smart home technology. Homeowners can integrate their furnace with smart thermostats, allowing for remote control and programming, which optimizes heating schedules based on lifestyle preferences.

In summary, the Lenox EL195UH Series gas furnace combines high efficiency, advanced technology, and quiet operation to create a top-tier heating solution. With its two-stage gas valve, durable construction, and compatibility with smart technology, this furnace is designed to meet the needs of modern homeowners while providing comfort and reliability throughout the heating season. Whether for new installations or as a replacement for an older system, the EL195UH Series stands out as a premier choice in home heating solutions.
