INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

THERMOSTAT - REMOTE CONTROL

THERMOSTAT

+It is suggested by the manufacturer that a qualified individual make this installation.

+Your DiamondGlo II and DiamondGlo JR is shipped from the factory with a thermostat included. Follow these instructions for the installation and operation of this thermostat.

+Locate the control valve at the back of the heater. Notice the electric terminals on the control valve, located on the right hand side of the valve when facing the back of the heater. See FIG 1.

1.Decide where you want to mount the thermostat. The thermostat can be mounted directly to the back of the heater using the bracket that is furnished with the thermostat or it can be located on a wall adjacent to the heater. (The bracket can be discarded if the thermostat is mounted on the wall adjacent to the heater.)

2.Run wire (included) from the log set to the location of the thermostat.

3.It is recommended that only the wire furnished with the thermostat is used.

4.You may cut the wire to the appropriate length needed, but it is recommended not to use any additional wire, so locate the thermostat within the distance of the wire included.

5. Attach the two bare end wires to the wall thermostat.

6.Make sure the ON/OFF lever on the wall thermostat is turned OFF and mount the wall thermostat. The cover of the thermostat snaps off for access to the mounting screw location.

7.Attach the two wires at the control valve to the two outside terminals on the terminal block. See drawing at right. (FIG. 1) (Make sure the wall thermostat is turned OFF.)

8.Follow the safety information on page 9 of this instruction manual.

9. Follow the lighting instructions on page 9 of this instruction manual.

10.After lighting the pilot, turn the ON/OFF control knob (FIG. 4 on page 9) to the ON position and the thermostat ON/OFF lever to the ON position. Adjust the temperature lever to the desired position. You can now adjust the HI/LOW knob to the desired level. If you have the HI/LOW control knob on “HI” the log set will burn on high flame when the thermostat calls for heat. If you have the HI/LOW control knob on “LOW” the log set will burn on low flame when the thermostat calls for heat.

11.You can allow the log set to operate by the thermostat setting or you can keep the log set from operating by turning the ON/OFF lever to “OFF” on the thermostat.

12.It is recommended that the ON/OFF control knob (FIG. 4 on page 9) on the control valve be turned to the “OFF” position when leaving home for any period of time.
