!CAUTION

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS

Do not try to light any appliance.

Do not touch any electrical switch; do not use any phone in your building.

Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor’s phone. Follow the gas supplier’s instructions.

If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire department.

IF YOUR SYSTEM IS NOT HEATING OR NOT GIVING ENOUGH HEAT . . .

You may avoid inconvenience and service calls by checking these points before you call for service.

Possible Cause

What to do

Thermostat is not set correctly Reset thermostat above room temperature

Burner is not operating properly Check flame. If it is yellow, burner is not getting enough air. Or, if flame is blue and noisy and seems to lift off burner, burner is getting too much air. Contact your service technician.

No electric power to boiler

Check over current protection. Verify electric power supply circuit is

 

“ON”.

Controls out of adjustment

Reset according to instructions.

Radiators not heating

Open radiator vents to expel air. Check flow control valve (if

 

used). It may be in closed position.

Circulating pump not running

Check over current protection. Check relay operation.

Poor electrical contact

Check all control terminals and wire joints.

Rollout switch blown

Have your service agent check heat exchanged for blockage.

 

Replace rollout switch with exact replacement.

Blocked vent blown

Have your service agent check venting system and chimney

 

for blockage, or down draft condition. Reset blocked vent.

Vent damper not operating

Consult troubleshooting guide in Effikal manual, packaged with

 

vent damper.

 

 

 

IF BURNER IS NOISY . . .

Dirt on seat

Open valve manually. Allow water to run and clear valve seat.

Water logged expansion tank

Drain tank, see instructions.
