Thermal Cut-Off

This vacuum cleaner has a special thermostat that protects the vacuum in case of motor overheating. If the vacuum suddenly shuts off, push the power switch to off (O) and unplug the vacuum. Check the vacuum for a possible source of overheating such as a full dust cup, blocked hose or clogged filter. If these conditions are found, fix them and wait at least 30 minutes before attempting to use the vacuum. After the 30 minute period, plug the vacuum back in and turn on the switch. If the vacuum still does not work, take it to a Eureka authorized service center for repair or call 1-800-282-2886.

Problem Solving

		check circuit breaker.
	Power switch	• Switch (I) turns on suction motor, (II) turns on brush roll motor
		and (O) turns vacuum off.
	Thermal cut-off	• See above.
Vacuum does not clean	Dust cup and filter	• Empty dust cup, clean and/or change filter.

	Belt	• Replace a worn, cut or out of shape belt. Page 4
	Hose	• Remove clogs from the hose that restrict the airflow. Make sure
		hose is replaced into hose retainer. Page 5
	Switch setting	• Set power switch to (I) for bare floor cleaning. Set switch
		to (II) for vacuuming carpets.
	Carpet height setting	• For carpet cleaning, turn height adjustment knob to another
		position. Make sure switch is set on (II) to ensure brush roll
		motor is on.
No suction at the	Dust cup and filter	• Empty dust cup, clean and/or change filter.
