Other Functions

This chapter describes how to use some functions contained in the system. i.e. listen to the radio, how to listen to an external source, how to select a listening mode, etc.

To listen to non-preset radio stations Use manual or automatic tuning in step 2.

For manual tuning, press TUNING (￿ ￿ or ￿￿ ) repeatedly. For automatic tuning, press and hold TUNING (￿ ￿ or ￿￿ ) until the frequency indicator starts to change automatically, then release the button.

Listening to the Radio

To listen to preset radio stations

Preset radio stations into the systems memory first (see “Presetting Radio Stations” on page 18).

If an FM program is noisy

Press MONO/STEREO button on the front panel or remote control so that “MONO” appears on the front panel display. There will be no stereo effect, but the reception will improve. Press the button again to restore the stereo effect.

To improve reception

Reorient the supplied antennas.

1. Press the TUNER/BAND button on the main unit repeatedly until “FM” or “AM” appears on the front panel display.

The last received station is tuned in.

2.Press the PRESET STATION UP/DOWN button repeatedly to select the preset station you want. Each time you press the button, the system tunes in one preset station at a time.

You can also use the number buttons to select a preset station number directly.

3.Adjust the volume level by pressing the VOL ￿ or ￿ button on the remote control.

4.To turn off the radio, press the STANDBY button.
