Cellar Construction

This is only a guide and shall be considered as minimum requirements.

All interior walls and floors shall have a vapor barrier and a minimum of R11 insulation. All exterior walls and ceiling shall have a vapor barrier and a minimum of R19 insulation. The vapor barrier shall be installed on the warm side of the insulation. All joints, door frames, electrical outlets or switches and any pipes or vents that go through the enclosure shall be sealed to prevent air and moisture leakage into the room. Concrete, rock, and brick are not insulation or vapor barriers.

Doors shall be of a minimum size, insulated to at least R11 and tightly sealed with high quality weather stripping. Be sure to seal the bottom of the door and fill gap between the door’s frame and wall before installing the cap molding.

In order to maintain 55 °F in the wine cellar, the ambient temperature surrounding the enclosure shall not exceed the temperature of the enclosure by more than 25 °F. No enclosure wall shall receive direct sun or strong wind.

Lighting shall be of low wattage, with a timer to insure lights are not left on when the enclosure is not occupied.

The cooling system will not be able to maintain the proper temperature if fresh moisture-laden air is constantly being introduced to the enclosure. Symptoms of this condition are; unit runs all the time with only a slight reduction in temperature and/or water overflows from the unit. Because of the temperature difference between the inside and outside, very small cracks can allow large amounts of outside air to enter into the enclosure. Please be aware that moisture can pass through solid concrete, paint and wood. Often a newly constructed room contains fresh wood, paint, concrete and other building materials. These materials contain large amounts of moisture. When placed into operation in this type of environment, the system will work harder to remove this extra moisture resulting in increased “run” time.

VINO2500-2500SSR, VINO2500-6500SSR, VINO2500-4500SSR specifications

Vinotemp has long been recognized as a premier manufacturer of wine cellars, and their latest offerings, the VINO2500-4500SSR, VINO2500-6500SSR, and VINO2500-2500SSR, continue this legacy of excellence. These modern wine refrigerators are designed to meet the diverse storage needs of wine enthusiasts, combining style, functionality, and advanced technology.

One of the standout features of these models is their ability to maintain optimal temperature control. Each unit is equipped with a powerful, energy-efficient compressor that ensures consistent temperatures between 40°F and 65°F. This range is crucial for preserving the delicate flavors and aromas of wine. The temperature can be easily adjusted via a digital control panel, allowing users to set it to their preference with precision.

Another key characteristic is the dual-zone cooling design found in the VINO2500-4500SSR and VINO2500-6500SSR models. This feature allows wine collectors to store both red and white wines at their ideal temperatures simultaneously. The dual-zone functionality enhances the versatility of these refrigerators, making them perfect for diverse wine collections. The separate zones are also equipped with individual temperature controls, ensuring that each type of wine is kept in its designated environment.

The construction quality of the Vinotemp refrigerators is noteworthy. They are designed with high-grade materials, including UV-protected glass doors that minimize harmful light exposure. This is essential for preserving wine quality, as excessive light can degrade wine over time. Additionally, the shelves are made of wood, providing a sturdy and attractive storage solution while minimizing vibration, which can disturb sediment in wine bottles.

Moreover, the VINO2500-6500SSR model features a stylish LED lighting system that illuminates the interior, allowing for easy visibility of your collection. The elegant design complements any decor, making these wine refrigerators as much a statement piece as a functional appliance.

Noise reduction is another area where these models excel. Engineered with a whisper-quiet compressor, they ensure that the environment remains peaceful, allowing wine lovers to enjoy their collections without distraction.

The Vinotemp VINO2500 range, including the 4500SSR, 6500SSR, and 2500SSR models, represents a blend of innovative technology and sophisticated design, catering to the needs of both casual drinkers and serious collectors alike. With superior temperature control, effective storage solutions, and aesthetic appeal, these wine refrigerators are essential for anyone looking to protect and showcase their wine collection.
