Other Operating Hints

There are a number of things you can do with your microwave oven. Some will be reminders. Others will be mentioned for the first time.

1.To double check settings while the oven is running:

l Touch the Command Pad for the setting you want to check. The instruction

programmed for that pad will show on the Display for 5 seconds. Then the Display returns to showing what the oven is doing.

2.To stop the oven while it is running:

l Open the door. The oven will stop. To restart the oven, close the door and touch START.

l Touch CANCEL. All instructions will be erased. You must touch in new instructions.

3.If you touch two instructions into the same cycle, the second set of instructions will cancel the first.

Bi-Level Cooking bck(Model SM988PES)

Use the Bi-Level Cooking Rack for extra space when cooking in more than one container at the same time. The metal rack can be turned upside-down

to help fit taller containers on the bottom of the oven. See the MICRO MENUS@ Cookbook provided with your oven for examples of menus that can be cooked using the Bi-Level Cooking Rack.

Inserting the Rack

l Insert the rack securely into the rack supports on the side walls of the oven (first position).

l Turn rack upside-down when using a taller container on the bot- tom of the oven [second position).

Cleaning the Rack

l Wash by hand with a mild detergent and a soft or nylon scrub brush. Dry completely.

l Do not use abrasive scrubbers or cleansers.

Damage Hazard

l Use hot pads when removing rack from oven after cooking to prevent burns. Rack may be hot.

. Do not store the metal rack in

the oven. Arcing and damage to the oven can result if some-

one accldentally starts the oven.

l Do not operate the oven with the metal rack stored on the floor of the oven. Damage to the interior finish will result.

l Use rack only in the microwave oven.

. Do not use rack with browning dish.

l Do not let food container on rack touch the top or sides of the oven.

. Do not cook foods directly on

rack without putting them in containers first.

l Do not place a metal cooking container directly on rack.

Place a microwave-safe plate under container.
