Using the Self-Cleaning Cycle

The Self-Cleaning cycle saves you from the toil and mess that often come with hand-cleaning the oven interior. Like the other functions of your oven, you operate the Self-Cleaning cycle with the easy-to-use electronic control. Please review the instructions in this section to keep your oven spotless.

Before you start

Before you start the Self-Cleaning cycle, make sure you:

l Hand-clean the areas shown. They do not get hot enough during the cleaning cycle for soil to burn away. Use hot water and detergent or a soapy steel-wool pad for cleaning.

NOTES:

lDO NOT clean, move, or bend the seal. Poor cleaning, baking, and roasting may result.

lDO NOT let water, cleaner, etc., enter slots on door and frame.

l Remove the broiler pan and grid and any pots and pans being stored in the oven.

NOTE: You can clean the broiler pan (without grid) in the oven if you have first removed most of the soil by hand-cleaning or in a dishwasher. If most of the soil is not removed, too much smoking will occur. The chrome broiler pan grid will discolor if cleaned in the Self-Cleaning cycle.

l Wipe out any loose soil or grease. This will help reduce smoke during the Self- Cleaning cycle.

l Remove the oven racks from the oven if you want them to remain shiny. You can clean the oven racks in the Self-Cleaning cycle, but they will become harder to slide. (See page 41.) If you clean racks in the Self-Cleaning cycle, place them on the 2nd and 4th rack guides. (Guides are counted from bottom to top.)

l Heat and odors are normal during the Self-Cleaning cycle. Keep the kitchen well ventilated by opening a window or by turning on a vent hood or other kitchen vent during the cycle.

Burn Hazard

l Do not touch the oven during the Self- Cleaning cycle.

l Do not use commercial oven cleaners in your oven.

Failure to follow the above could result in burns or hazardous fumes.

NOTES:

l Do not block the vent during the Self- Cleaning cycle. Air must move freely for best cleaning results.

lDo not leave any foil in the oven during the Self-Cleaning cycle. Foil could burn or melt and damage the oven surface.

l The oven light will not work during the Self-Cleaning cycle.

RBD277PD, RBD307PD, RBS277PD, RBS307PD specifications

Whirlpool, a renowned leader in home appliances, has introduced a selection of innovative wall ovens, namely the RBS277PD, RBD277PD, RBS307PD, and RBD307PD models. These ovens are designed to elevate the cooking experience with their advanced features, cutting-edge technologies, and thoughtful design.

The RBS277PD and RBD277PD models are both built with a focus on user convenience and efficiency. With a spacious capacity of 4.3 cubic feet, these ovens can accommodate multiple dishes, making them perfect for family gatherings or entertaining guests. The reason for their popularity lies in their ability to provide consistent cooking results, thanks to the AccuBake Temperature Management System. This technology uses advanced sensors to monitor the oven temperature and ensure even baking results every time.

On the other hand, the RBS307PD and RBD307PD feature an impressive 5.0 cubic feet of capacity, allowing for larger meal preparations. One of the standout features of these models is the True Convection cooking technology, which circulates heated air throughout the oven. This results in faster cooking times and an even distribution of heat, making these ovens particularly effective for baking, roasting, and broiling.

All four models are equipped with self-cleaning options, saving users the hassle of manually cleaning their ovens. The self-cleaning cycle utilizes high temperatures to burn away residue and spills, leaving only a dusting of ash that can be easily wiped away. Furthermore, the steam-clean option is ideal for light cleaning tasks, offering a more efficient cleaning method without the use of harsh chemicals.

In terms of design, these Whirlpool wall ovens feature a sleek and modern aesthetic that fits seamlessly into any kitchen decor. The intuitive touch controls and large digital display make it easy to select cooking times and temperatures. Additionally, the ovens come with a variety of cooking presets, including options for pizzas, baked goods, and more, which simplify the cooking process.

Energy efficiency is another key characteristic, as all four models meet Energy Star standards, promoting sustainable energy use without compromising performance. With their combination of style, advanced cooking technologies, and user-friendly features, the Whirlpool RBS277PD, RBD277PD, RBS307PD, and RBD307PD wall ovens are ideal choices for the modern home chef looking to enhance their culinary capabilities.
