OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
III . OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1.GENERAL
The appliance is used for grilling and frying various types of meat, sausages, fish and vegetables. The food to be cooked is placed directly on a grill. Under the grill there are several bar burners, protected from pollution by
Temperature control is stepless and separate for the left and right halves of the grill.
A GN dish in the open storage space in the base unit collects overflowing liquids.
The grill is composed of several individual elements and is made of cast iron. All other parts of the appliance are made of
Accessories supplied:
-GN container 1/1 or 2/1,
-Scraper.
2.2IGNITING THE MAIN BURNER
DPress the knob (2/Fig.9) in lightly and turn it from the pilot
burner ignition position ( )
The high position ( ) equates to the maximum burner power or rated thermal load.
2.3TEMPERATURE SELECTION
The intensity of the flame can be adjusted between the "high position" ()and the "low position" ().
DPush the knob (2/Fig.9) fully in and turn it
from the high setting ( ) towards the lowest () setting. The flame becomes smaller and smaller.
In the lowest setting () the main burner has the lowest output.
DTo return from the lowest setting () towards the highest
setting ( ), push the knob (VB, HB / Fig.9) fully in and turn it clockwise.
2.OPERATION
DFor liquid gas operation also open the bottle or tank valve.
DSwitch on gas burner (Chapters 2.1 and 2.2).

2.1IGNITING THE PILOT BURNER
D Push the knob (2/Fig.9) fully in.
DTurn it
DHold the knob (2/Fig.9) fully pressed in.
DAt the same time, ignite the gas escaping at the pilot burner with the piezo ignition device. The burner is ignited by turning the knob (3) clockwise or
DAfter lighting the pilot burner, keep the rotary switch pushed in for about 15 seconds.
It is only after this period of time that the pilot light will burn after the rotary switch is released.
DIf the pilot light extinguishes, repeat the whole process.
2.4INITIAL OPERATION
The new appliance should then be heated up for 30 minutes.
2.4.1PREHEATING
The complete energy supply should be used for heating up.
2.4.2WORKING RULES
The temperature must be adapted to the food to be cooked:
•thin pieces require higher temperatures and shorter cooking times,
•thick pieces require lower temperatures and longer cooking times.
Each time after grilling, the cooking residues must be removed from the plate. This can be done with the scraper.
2.5COLLECTING LIQUIDS
Cooking liquids draining off is collected in a GN container. During operation a container must always be pushed in. A water layer of about 1“ (2 cm) height in the container avoids the burning of the running off liquid and facilitates the cleaning.
Note
DIt must be made certain that during the operation a container, for example a provided GN container, collects cook liquid draining off into the base.
DWhen draining oil, fat or water into the drip pan there may be spitting - danger of burning!
2.6SWITCHING OFF THE OVEN
2.6.1MAIN BURNER
DTurn the knob (2/Fig.9) back clockwise from the highest
setting ( ) to pilot burner ignition ( ).
The gas supply to the main burner is stopped and the main flame is shut down. The flame of the pilot burner keeps on burning and is available for further main burner ignitions.
2.6.2PILOT BURNER FLAME
DPress the knob (2/Fig.9) lightly and turn it clockwise from pilot burner ignition to Off.
The complete gas supply is cut off and the pilot light extinguishs.
= Off
DIgnition can only start again when the heating element has cooled down.
2.6.3LONG SHUT-DOWNS
The following should be observed when shutting down for a long period:
DTurn off the main gas tap (1/Fig.9).
When operating with liquid gas, also turn off the bottle or tank valve.
