•Reinstall cover and secure with
knob(s).
TO SERVICE CARTRIDGE
Remove wing nuts and cartridge plate. Carefully remove cartridge to prevent
debris from entering carburetor.
•Clean cartridge by tapping gently on flat surface. If very dirty or damaged, re- place cartridge.
•Reinstall cartridge plate, wing nuts, precleaner, cover and secure with
knob(s).
IMPORTANT: Petroleum solvents, such as kerosene, are not to be used to clean
the cartridge. They may cause deteriora- tion of the cartridge. Do not oil cartridge. Do not use pressurized air to clean or dry cartridge.

MUFFLER
Inspect and replace corroded muffler and spark arrestor (if equipped) as it could create a fire hazard and/or damage.
SPARK PLUGS
Replace spark plugs at the beginning of each mowing season or after every I00 hours of operation, whichever occurs first.
Spark plugty,p,e and gapsetting are shown in the PRODOCT SPECIFICA-
TIONS" section of this manual.
IN-LINE FUEL FILTER
The fuel filter should be replaced once each season. If fuel filter becomes
clogged, obstructing fuel flow to carbure- tor, replacement is required.
•With engine cool, remove filter and plug fuel line sections.
•Place new fuel filter in position in fuel
line with arrow pointing towards carbu- retor.
•Be sure there are no fuel line leaks and clamps are properly positioned.

ENGINE COOLING FINS
Remove any dust, dirt or oil from engine cooling fins to prevent engine damage from overheating. Air guide covers must
be removed_Remove side panels and

justments section of this manual).

CLEANING
•Clean engine, battery, seat, finish, etc. of all foreign matter.
•Keep finished surfaces and wheels free of all gasoline, oil, etc.
•Protect painted surfaces with automo-
tive type wax.
We do not recommend using a garden hose to clean your tractor unless the elec- trical system, muffler, air filter ane camure- tor are covered to keep water out. Water in
engine can result in a shortened engine life.
