TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

PROBLEMCAUSE

Loss of power (cont'dl Dirty/clogged muffler, Loose or damaged wiring, Carburetor out of adjustment,

Engine valves out of adjust- ment.

Excessive vibration Worn, bent or loose blade. Bent blade mandrel.

Loose/damaged part(s).

CORRECTION

Clean/replace muffler.

Check all wiring.

See "To Adjust Carburetor" in Ser.

Obstruction in clutch mecha- nism.

Worn/damaged mower drive belt.

Frozen idler pulley.

Frozen blade mandrel.

Engine speed too slow.

Travel speed too fast.

Wet grass.

Mower deck not level.

Low/uneven tire air pressure.

Worn, bent or loose blade.

If not

service center/department.

 

Replace blade. Tighten blade bolt.

 

Level mower deck.

Replace

blade mandrel.

• Clean around mandrels to open

 

vent holes.

Remove

obstruction.

• Replace mower drive belt.

Replace idler pulley.

Replace

blade mandrel.

• Place throttle control in "FAST' po-

 

sition.

 

 

Shift to slower speed.

Allow grass to dry before mowing. Level mower deck.

Replace/sharpen blade. "lighten blade bolt.

Replace with blades listed in this manual.

Clean around mandrels to open vent holes.

Turn switch "ON".

Replace bulb(s).

Check/replace light switch. Check widng andconnections.

Replace fuse.

Replace battery.

Check/clean all connections.

Replace regulator,

Replace alternator.
