TRACTOR SET-UP

Moving The Tractor Manually

Yourtractor'stransmissionis equippedwitha hydrostaticreliefvalve for occasionswhenit is necessaryto movethe tractormanually.Open- ingthisvalvepermitsthe fluidin the transmissionto bypassits normal route,allowingthe reartiresto "freewheel."Toopenthe hydrostatic reliefvalve,proceedas follows:

1.Locatethe hydrostaticbypassrodinthe rearof thetractor.See Figure1.

Shipping Brace Removal

Makesurethe gardentractor'sengineis off, setthe parkingbrake and removethe ignitionkeybeforeremovingthe shippingbrace.

1.Locatethe shippingbrace,if present,andwarningtag foundon the right side of the cutting deck. See Figure 2.

2.Pullthe hydrostaticbypassrodoutward,then up,to lock itin place.

NOTE:The transmissionwill NOTengagewhenthe hydrostatic bypassrodis pulledout. Returnthe rodto itsnormalpositionpriorto operatingthe tractor.

Neverattemptto movethetractormanuallywithoutfirst openingthe hydrostaticreliefvalve.Doingsowill resultinseriousdamageto the tractor'stransmission.

2.Whileholdingthe dischargecoverchutedeflectorwithyourleft hand, removethe shippingbracewithyourright handby grasping it betweenyourthumbandindexfingerandrotatingit clockwise.

The shippingbraceis usedfor packagingpurposesonly. Removeant discardthe shippingbracebeforeoperatingyour gardentractor.

The mowingdeckis capableof throwingobjects. Operatingthe riding mowerwithoutthe dischargecoverin theproperoperatingposition could resultin seriouspersonalinjuryand/orpropertydamage.
