General

OPERATIONS

The Model M1044 will perform many types of operations that are beyond the scope of this manual. Many of these operations can be dangerous or if performed incorrectly.

The instructions in this section are written with the understanding that the operator has the necessary knowl- edge and skills to operate this machine. If at any time you are experiencing difficulties performing any opera- tion, stop using the machine!

If you are an inexperienced operator, we strongly recom- mend that you read books, trade articles, or seek training from an experienced Foot Shear operator before perform- ing any unfamiliar operations. Above all, your safety should come first!

Stops & Guides

The front stop and angle guide are quickly adjusted by wing nuts on the top of the stops. The rear extension arms have micro-adjusting stops in Figure 13 that allow you to fine tune your cut length. For the most accurate cuts, make sure that you have at least one square edge up against a stop.

CRUSHING AND SEVERING HAZARD! Keep hands and fingers away from pressure plate and blade when shear- ing or serious injury will occur!
