Slope Operation:

Slopesare a majorfactor relatedto lossof controland tip-overaccidentswhichcan resultin severeinjuryor death.All slopesrequireextracaution.If youcannot backupthe slopeor if youfeel uneasyonit, do notmow it.

Foryour safety,usethe slopegaugeincludedas partof thismanualto measureslopesbeforeoperatingthisunit ona slopedor hillyarea. Ifthe slopeis greaterthan 15 degreesas shownon theslopegauge,do notoperate thisunit onthatareaor seriousinjurycouldresult.

DO:

1.Mowupanddownslopes,notacross. Exercise extremecautionwhenchangingdirectiononslopes.

2.Watchfor holes,ruts,bumps,rocks,orother hidden objects.Uneventerraincouldoverturnthe machine. Tallgrasscan hideobstacles.

3.Useslowspeed.Choosea low enoughspeed settingso thatyouwill not haveto stopor shift while onthe slope.Tiresmaylosetractiononslopeseven thoughthe brakesarefunctioningproperly.Always keepmachineingearwhengoingdown slopesto takeadvantageof enginebrakingaction.
