CD OPERATION

PLAYING CD

1.Press the POWER ON/STANDBY switch q or

button z to turn on the power.

2.Press the OPEN/CLOSE 0 button r to open the disc tray, put the CD on the tray with the label-side facing up, and press the OPEN/CLOSE 0 button r again to close the tray.

Be sure to put 8 cm discs in the center of the tray.

Label side

For MP3, fast reverse only works within the MP3 track that is currently playing.

If you press the button for more than four seconds, the fast forward or fast reverse speed increases.

7To Select Tracks

On the CR401:

Turn the Easy JOG 4/¢ knob !5to select a track for playback.

If you select a track while playback is stopped, press the Easy JOG 4/¢ knob !5to start playback.

Press the Easy JOG 4/¢ knob !5to jump to the next track during playback.

To enter a track number greater than or equal to 100, press --/---button v twice.

For example, to enter tranck number 123, press --/---button v twice, 1, 2 and 3.

7Repeat Playback

Use the Repeat function to play a track, a folder for MP3 only or a disc repeatedly.

1.During playback, press the REPEAT button ¤6 repeatedly to select repeat mode.

D-Rpt: Repeat the disc

F-Rpt: Repeat current folder (MP3 only)

3.Press the PLAY/PAUSE 6 button !4or PLAY 2 button ¤5to start playback.

Playback starts and the “2” indicator appears on the display.

Note

If you press the OPEN/CLOSE 0 button r or PAUSE 8 button ¤4in except CD mode, the sound source is changed to CD mode automatically.

7To Stop Playback

Press the STOP 7 button !2or ⁄0.

7To Pause Playback

Press the PLAY/PAUSE 6 button !4or PAUSE 8 button ¤4. “8” indicator appears on the display.

To resume playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE 6 button !4or PLAY 2 button ¤5.

7To Fast Forward or Fast Reverse (remote controller only)

During playback or while playback is paused, press and hold the ¡ button ⁄2to fast forward, or the 1 button ⁄1to fast reverse.

On the remote controller:

Press the ¢ button ¤3to select the next track, or the 4 button ¤2to select the previous track.

If you press the 4 button ¤2during playback or while play-back is paused, the beginning of the current track is selected.

If you select a track while playback is stopped, press the PLAY 2 button ¤5to start playback.

Note

With CDs and MP3 discs that contain many tracks, playback may take a while to start.

7Selecting Tracks by Number

Use the number buttons to select specific tracks.

1.Use the number buttons to enter a track number. Playback starts automatically.

For MP3 disc, select the serial number assigned to the track.

To enter a track number smaller than or equal to 10, press each Numeric button ‹0.

For example, to enter track number 10, press 10/0.

Use the --/---button v to enter track numbers above 10.

To enter a track number from 11 to 99, press -- /---button v once.

For example, to enter track number 15, press -- /---button v , 1 and 5.

T-Rpt: Repeat current track

2.To cancel Repeat playback, press the REPEAT button ¤6repeatedly to turn off the “Rpt” indicator.

Notes

If you press the REPEAT button ¤6during memory playback, your custom program will play “D-Rpt” and “T-Rpt” only.

If you press the REPEAT button ¤6during random playback for CD, you will use random playback repeatedly.
