To configure and manage your Switch 3900 system, you can use one of several applications:

How Do You Want to Manage the System?

You can manage your system locally through a terminal connection or through the network with an IP connection. Table 5-1 describes the access mechanisms.

The Switch 3900 Administration Console is a character-oriented, menu-driven user interface for administering the system. You can access the Administration Console in-band using the network ports through the IP network protocol.
