Patroncounting

Apatroncounterismountedoneachlattice.Eachpatroncounterwillincrementonlyforthecorridoritisfacing.Sincethere
isalwaysonemorelatticethantherearecorridors,thepatroncounterfacingout,awayfromthesystem,willundernormal
circumstancesalwayshaveazeropatroncount.
Patroncountingissetbythetechnicianatinstallationtoeither
Countpatronsastheyenterthroughacorridor
Countpatronsastheyexitthroughacorridor
Countpatronsastheyenterandcountpatronsastheyexitthroughacorridor
Eachpatroncountercountsindependently.Thereisnotadisplayforatotalrunningcountofallcorridorsforthesystemfor2–,3–,
or4–corridorsystems.Foratotalpatroncountformultiple-corridorsystems,youwillneedtorecordandaddtogetherthepatron
countsontheindividualpatroncounters.Ifthesystemisconfiguredtocountpatronsastheyenterandastheyexit,youwillneedto
dividethistotalinhalf,asthesystemis,ineffect,countingeachpatrontwice(onceastheyenter,andthenonceastheyexit).
Eachpatroncounterisbackedupbybatterypowersoitwillnotresettozeroanytimepowertothesystemisshutoff,disconnected,
orotherwiseinterrupted(forexample,apoweroutage).
Adjustingspeakervolume
Eachlatticehasaspeakerinsideitsbasethatwillmakethealarmsoundifanalarmconditionoccurs.Ifthealarmistooloudor
toosoft,thevolumemaybeadjustedmanually.
Note:Toadjustthespeakervolume,youwillneedasmall(4mm[0.16in.]maximumdiameter)flatbladescrewdriver.

Toadjustspeakervolume

1.Locatethespeakervolumeadjustmentknobinsidetheopeningforthespeakerinthelatticebasecover,nexttothespeaker.
2.Usethesmall(4mm[0.16in.]maximumdiameter)flat
bladescrewdriverintheadjustmentknobslottoturnthe
speakervolumeupordowntothedesiredlevel.
Tip:Useasecuredbooktotriggerthealarmsoyoucan
hearitasyouadjustthevolume.
Note:Adjustingthevolumemayalsoaffectthefrequency
(pitch)ofthealarmsound.

3.Confirmthatthealarmcanbeheardandissettoavolumelevelthatiseffectiveandappropriateforthelibrary.
