3.14 Set Supervisor/User Password
You
can
se
t
either
supervisor
or
user
password
,
or
both
of
then.
The
di
ff
erences
between
are
:
1.
Supervisor
password:
can
enter
and
change
the
options
of
t
he
setup
menus.
2.
User
password:
jus
t
can
enter
bu
t
do
no
t
have
t
he
right
to
change
the
options
of
the
setup
menus
.
When
you
select
this
function,
the
f
ollowing
message
will
appear
at
t
he
center
of
the
screen
t
o
assis
t
you
in
creating
a
password.
ENTER PASSWORD:
Type
t
he
password
with
eight
characters
a
t
most
,
and
press
<Enter>.
The
password
typed
will
now
clear
any
previously
entered
password from
CMOS
memory
.
You
will
be
asked
to
confirm
the
password.
Type
t
he
password
again
and
press
<Enter>.
You
may
also
press
<Esc>
t
o abort
the
selection
and
not
enter
a
password.
To
disable
password,
just
press
<Enter>
when
you
are
prompted
t
o
enter
password.
A
message
will
confirm
the
password
being
disabled.
Once
the
password
is
disabled
,
the
system
will
boot
and
you
can
enter
Setup
freely.
PASSWORD DISABLED.
When
a
password
is
enabled,
you
have
t
o
t
ype
it
every
t
ime
you
enter
Setup.
This
prevents
any
unauthorized
person
from
changing
your
sys
t
em
configuration.
Additionally
when
a
password
is
enabled,
you
can
also
require
t
he
B
I
OS
to
reques
t
a
password
every
time
the
system
reboots
.
This
would
preven
t
unauthorized
use
of
your
computer
.
You
determine
when
t
he
password
is
required
within
the
BIOS
Features
Setup
Menu
and
its
Security
option
. If t
he
Security
option
is
set
t
o
“System”,
t
he
password
is
required
during
boot
up
and
entry
into
Setup.
If
set
as
“Setup”,
prompting
will
only
occur
prior
to
entering
Setup.
