SCSI ID 0 is best reserved for the SCSI hard disk drive that will
be used as your computer's boot device.
SCSI ID 1 is best reserved for a second hard disk drive.
SCSI IDs play no role in determining the physical order of SCSI
devices cabled to the host adapter.
If you are installing more than one SCSI host adapter, each
adapter implements a different SCSI bus, so SCSI IDs can be
reused.

Setting the SCSI ID on the AMM-1570/1572

Changing the SCSI ID setting on the AMM-1570/1572 is done by
configuring jumper block J6 on the board. SCSI ID on page 2-16 lis ts
the available settings for SCSI ID.

Setting the SCSI ID on Other SCSI Devices

The SCSI ID on most SCSI devices is typically set with jumpers or
with switches on the SCSI device. Re fer to the SCSI device documen-
tation for information on changing the SCSI ID for your particular
SCSI device.
Default Settings
In most cases, you will never have to change the default settings of
theAM M-1570/1572; however, if you need to change any of the set-
tings, do it before you install the AMM-1570/1572 in your system.
The following table lists the AMM-1570/1572 default settings and
the jumper blocks used to configure the settings. For settings and
options of each jumper block, see Configuring the AMM-1570/1572 on
page 2-10.
