What to do if...

Trouble Shooting

If the appliance is not working correctly, please carry out the following
checks before contacting your local Service Force Centre. Important: If
you call out an engineer to a fault listed below or to repair a fault
caused by incorrect use or installation, a charge will be made even if
the appliance is in guarantee.
If the fault code C1 or C2 is shown in the
multi-display, you may be able to remedy
the fault yourself (see the Fault table be-
low). When you have remedied the fault,
press the START/PAUSE button.
With all other displayed faults (C plus number or letter): switch appli-
ance off and on again. Reset the wash programme and press the
START/PAUSE button.
If the fault code is displayed again, please contact the Customer Service
department quoting the fault code.
Problem Possible Cau se Remedy
The washing machine
does not work.
The mains plug is not in-
serted. Insert the mains plug.
The house fuse has blown. Replace the fuse.
The door is not closed prop-
erly.
Close the door - there should
be an audible click.
The START/PAUSE button
was not pressed for long
enough.
Press and hold the START/
PAUSE button until the pro-
gramme starts.
The door cannot be
closed.
The child safety device is
switched on.
Release the child safety fea-
ture (see section "Child
safety feature").
Water is not entering.
Fault code (1 appears.
The water tap is closed. Open the water tap.
The filter in the socket of the
inlet hose connection is
blocked.
Close the water tap. Discon-
nect the hose from the water
tap, remove the filter and
clean under running water.
Water tap is blocked with
limescale or is faulty.
Check the water tap and
have it repaired if necessary.
