To change the volume associated with a given pad:

1. Press the pad (the display will show the pad number).

2. Enter the desired volume, from 00 (full off) to 99 (maximum volume), with the number or INC/DEC buttons.

3.When the display confirms your choice, either store the edits you've made (see section 4.8) or do more assignments by tapping another pad to select it, then assigning the pad volume.

The seven available pan positions correspond to the number buttons shown in parenthesis: hard left (1), soft left (2), left of center (3), center (4), right of center (5), soft right (6), and hard right (7).

3. When the display confirms your choice, either store the edited Drum Set (see section 4.8) or do more assignments by tapping another pad to select it, then assigning the pan position.

Background The SR-16 has two pairs of stereo outputs. Drum sounds can be assigned to either pair of outputs (Page 7), and be placed anywhere within the stereo field of the assigned outputs via the pan function.

When heard from the drummer's perspective, the high-hat will usually be on the left, snare and kick in the center, and toms trailing from left-center to right. Of course, one of the advantages of electronic drum sets is that you need not follow any standard way of placing drum sounds in the stereo field.
