Equalizer Presets

10 typical equalizer settings are preset at the factory for a variety of musical source material.

1 Press MENU to select Factory's EQ (P-EQ for CDA-9830).

2 Press either gor f.

With each press of the button, the equalizer mode will display the selected equalizer characteristic.

ELECTRICAL (ELECTRIC) HIPHOP & RAP (HIPHOP) EASY LISTEN (EASY) COUNTRY CLASSICAL (CLASSIC)

NEWS USER'S EQ 1,2 (USERS 1,2) FLAT(OFF)

3 Press MENU to select RETURN.

The unit returns to normal mode.

Pressing and holding MENU for at least 2 seconds will return to normal mode.

This function is inoperable when DEFEAT is set to ON (page 14).

EQ mode is automatically canceled if no buttons are pressed within 15 seconds.

By selecting USER'S EQ 1 or EQ 2 (USERS 1 or USERS 2 for CDA-9830), you can recall the stored preset number in "Adjusting and Storing the Equalizer Curve."

6 Press SOURCE/POWER to select your desired band width (Q).

Adjustable band width:

BAND1 : 1.0, 2.0, 3.0,

BAND2 : 1.0, 1.5, 2.0

BAND3 : 1.0, 2.0, 3.0

BAND4 : 1.0 (fixed band width)

To store the adjusted curve

1)Press and hold, for at least 2 seconds, the preset buttons (1 or 2) into which you wish to store the adjusted curve.

7 To set another channel, repeat steps 3 to 6.

8 Press the Rotary encoder to confirm the adjusted contents.

The adjusted contents are not stored if the Rotary encoder is not pressed.

9 After setting, press MENU to select RETURN.

The unit returns to normal mode.

Pressing and holding MENU for at least 2 seconds will return to normal mode.

EQ mode is automatically canceled if no buttons are pressed within 15 seconds.

Adjusting and Storing the Equalizer Curve

You can modify the Equalizer settings to create a response curve more appealing to your personal taste.

1 Press and hold MENU for at least 2 seconds.

2 Press MENU to select USER'S EQ (USERS for CDA-9830).

3 Press BAND/TEL. to select your desired frequency band.

BAND1 BAND2 BAND3 BAND4 BAND1

4 Press gor fto select your desired frequency.

Adjustable frequency bands:

BAND1 : 40Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz

BAND2 : 100Hz, 150Hz, 200Hz

BAND3 : 500Hz, 700Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz, 4kHz, 6kHz

BAND4 : 10kHz, 12.5kHz, 15kHz

5 Turn the Rotary encoder to adjust the level.

Recalling the Stored Equalizer Curve

1 Press and hold MENU for at least 2 seconds.

2 Press MENU to select USER'S EQ (USERS for CDA-9830).

3 Press either preset button (1 or 2) to activate your desired curve.

4 Press MENU to select RETURN.

The unit returns to normal mode.

Pressing and holding MENU for at least 2 seconds will return to normal mode.

EQ mode is automatically canceled if no operation is performed within 15 seconds.

This function is inoperable when DEFEAT is set to ON (page 14).
