UPS will not turn on.
1. UPS Enable switch is in the off
position or front panel switch not
pressed.
1. Turn on the rear panel UPS Enable switch .
Press front panel switch to power UPS and
loads.
2. UPS’s input circuit breaker is
tripp ed (bu t t on i s ex ten de d) . 2. Reduce the UPS’s load by unplugging
equipment and reset the circuit breaker (press
button on rear pa nel).
3. Very low utility voltage or dead
outlet. 3. Check outlet with a table lamp. If very dim,
have utility voltage checked by an electrician.

UPS operates on-battery
even thoug h nor m al line
voltage i s thought to exist.
2. Very high, low or badly
distor t ed li ne vo lt age. 2. Test the input voltage with UP S’s Line
voltage bar grap h - s ee sec t i on 5.0 .
Inexpens i v e f uel po wer ed ge ner ators can
cause distorted line voltages - set Option
switch 1 to the on ( I ) position.
UPS "beeps" occas ion all y . This is normal. The UPS is protect ing your computer
equipment from momentary sags or swells.
UPS beeps mo re t h an once
or twic e an hour. Chronically high or distorted lin e
voltage.
Set Option switche s 1 and 2 to match input
voltage range. Alternatively , set Opti on switch
3 to the on ( I ) position - see section 5.0.
UPS does not provide
expected back up time.
1. UPS’s battery is weak due to
recent utility outage or wear. 1. The UPS’s batteries require recharging
follow ing an extended outage. The batteries
will wear faster when put in to service often
and when operat in g at el ev a te d t emp er at ur es .
2. UPS is overloaded. 2. Check load using U PS’s Output power bar
graph - see section 5.0. Unplug non-critical
equipment such as printers.
Indicat ors on front panel flash
in a "marquee" fashion. UPS has been shut down by
computer software. UPS will restart when AC po wer returns.
All indicators are illuminated
and UPS emits constant tone.Internal UPS fault. Do not attempt to use UPS. Turn off UPS and
have it serviced immediately.
Site wiring fault light is
illuminated - UPS operates
normally.
Buildi ng wiring error such as
missing ground or hot-neutral
reversa l.
A qualified electrician should be summoned to
correc t t he bui l din g wi ri n g.
Low battery lig ht is illuminated
and on-li ne l ig ht is
extinguished.
UPS is shut down an d battery is
discha r ged du e t o extended
power failure.
UPS will retur n to normal operati on when
power is r es t o red and bat t e ry ha s cha r ged
sufficiently.
Replace battery light is
illumina ted. Weak battery.
Allow the batteries to rechar ge for at least 8
hours. If t he prob lem per sists after rechar gi ng ,
the batt eries should be repl aced.
