Installing an AirPort Extreme Card

If your computer did not come with an AirPort Extreme Card, you can purchase one from your Apple Authorized Reseller or from the Apple Store at www.apple.com/store and install it yourself or have it installed by an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

Note: Your iMac G5 is not compatible with older AirPort Cards. Use only an AirPort Extreme Card.

To install an AirPort Extreme Card in your iMac G5:

1Turn your computer off by choosing Apple (K) > Shut Down. Disconnect all cables and the power cord from your computer.

2Place a soft, clean towel or cloth on the desk or surface. Hold the sides of the computer and slowly lay it down so the screen is flat against the surface and the bottom is facing towards you.

Loosen 3 screws

3Raise the stand and use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to loosen the three captive screws at the bottom of the computer by turning them counter-clockwise.
