52 Chapter 4 Enhancing Your Computer

3Raise the stand and use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to loosen the three captive screws at

the bottom of the computer by turning them counter-clockwise.

4Holding the metal stand, tilt the back cover up and lift it away from the computer. The

back cover with the stand attached should come off easily. If it doesn't, make sure the

screws are turned completely counter-clockwise.

5To protect the computer from electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by touching a

metal surface inside the computer.

6If an AirPort Extreme Card is installed, remove it from the slot over the battery.

Warning: Always discharge static electricity before you touch any parts or install any

components inside the computer. To avoid generating static electricity, do not walk

around the room until you have finished the installation and closed the computer.
