Subject: AVAILABILITY: ASA-1 5/8” OFFSET AUTOMATIC SLACK

ADJUSTER

We are pleased to announce the availability of the Bendix Automatic Slack Adjuster in a 5/8” offset configuration. This unit is offered in only a 5-1/2” arm length and a 1-1/4” 10 tooth spline; and should only be used with type 16, 20, 24 and 30 brake chambers.

Piece numbers are as follows:

288750	Offset Left
288751	Offset Right

While the initial release of this unit was for the new Ford CL 9000 series with Wagner Front Axles and Brakes, the unit may also be retrofitted on many other vehicle front axles with Wagner Brakes utilizing a 5/8” offset slack adjuster.

As a matter of interest, 288750 and 288751 will replace Ford original equipment piece number 289243 and 289244 (with modified yoke).

Units are in stock at all Service Plants.
