Subject: Cruise Control Stationary Throttle Mode

Stationary throttle control was incorporated in the truck cruise control system to permit a rough setting of engine speed to aid in the warm-up process. Like the mechanical hand throttle it replaces, the system sets engine speed by positioning the throttle lever. In the stationary throttle control mode the system sets engine speed by incrementally repositioning the throttle lever each time the “RESUME” switch is activated. The system does not monitor engine RPM and, therefore, precise engine speeds cannot be set or maintained.

This is particularly true in the case of varying engine loads as would be encountered when accessory equipment such as the P.T.O. or air conditioning cycles on and off. It should also be noted that due to the sensitivity of some engine governors, throttle positioning is not an effective method of controlling engine speed even in a no load condition.

In all cases the vehicle should not be left unattended for long periods of time while the stationary throttle control is in use.

Operation of the Bendix cruise control system including the stationary throttle control is covered in the Operational Handbook (BW-1331) packaged with all retrofit kits.

TCH-010-004 specifications

The BENDIX TCH-010-004 is a state-of-the-art tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) designed for heavy-duty vehicles, particularly in the trucking and transportation industries. This innovative technology is engineered to enhance safety, increase fuel efficiency, and prolong tire life by providing real-time monitoring of tire pressure and temperature.

One of the primary features of the BENDIX TCH-010-004 is its ability to continuously monitor tire conditions. The system utilizes advanced sensor technology that automatically detects changes in tire pressure and temperature. If the system identifies any anomalies—such as under-inflation or over-inflation—it instantly alerts the driver through a visual and audible signal. This timely notification can prevent potential tire blowouts and other related accidents, ultimately enhancing road safety.

The BENDIX TCH-010-004 is equipped with wireless communication capabilities, allowing seamless data transfer between the tire sensors and the vehicle’s onboard system. This wireless feature eliminates the need for cumbersome wiring installations, making the system easier to install and maintain. Moreover, the data collected by the system can be accessed in real-time, providing fleet managers with critical insights into tire performance and condition.

Another key characteristic of the BENDIX TCH-010-004 is its resilience and durability. Built to withstand the harsh conditions typical in the trucking industry, the system is designed with robust materials that can endure extreme temperatures, vibrations, and other environmental factors. This durability ensures long-term reliability and reduces the need for frequent replacements or repairs.

Additionally, the BENDIX TCH-010-004 integrates seamlessly with other fleet management systems. Its compatibility with various platforms allows for a comprehensive overview of the fleet’s operational status, further enhancing efficiency. Fleet owners can utilize the data collected to make informed decisions about maintenance schedules and tire replacements, leading to reduced operating costs.

In conclusion, the BENDIX TCH-010-004 stands out as a critical component for any heavy-duty vehicle interested in enhancing safety and operational efficiency. With its advanced monitoring technologies, wireless communication features, and durable design, this TPMS represents a significant advancement in tire management systems. By investing in the BENDIX TCH-010-004, fleet operators can ensure the safety of their drivers while optimizing their operational expenditures.
