Aroma Feature
This feature slows the brew cycle slightly to provide a richer flavour if so desired. The aroma feature can only be set when the coffee maker is on or the timer is programmed and set. Press the ‘AROMA’ button (3.4) to turn the feature on, press it again to turn it off. The display will show the aroma icon.
Clean
The clean icon will be displayed when the coffee maker requires descaling. Follow the instructions outlined in the ‘Care and Cleaning’ section. The clean icon will be displayed continuously until reset by unplugging the coffee maker from the mains supply.Replace the carafe on the hotplate and allow the remainder of the coffee to drip into the carafe.
LCD backlight setting function
The blue backlight display can be set to be continuously on by pressing the ‘HOUR’ and ‘MIN’ buttons together for approximately 5 seconds. To revert to display back to the default setting, press the ‘HOUR and ‘MIN’ buttons together again for approximately 5 seconds.
Cleaning and maintenance
Warning! Before cleaning and maintenance, switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the socket.
•Using the handles, remove the filter (12) and the filter holder (8) from the filter holder compartment (9). Remove the used coffee grounds from the filter.
•Wash the carafe (4), the filter holder and the filter in hot, soapy water. Dry all parts and refit them.
•Wipe the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth.
Descaling the appliance
If the appliance is used in an area with hard water, it is advised to descale the appliance when from time to time.
•Use a commercial descaling agent for coffee makers, or use water and vinegar as follows:
•Fill the water tank (7) and add 3 teaspoons of vinegar. Operate the appliance as for making coffee until the reservoir is empty.
•Discard the used water and repeat the procedure 2 or 3 times with fresh water.
