IMPORTANTSAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR HEAT GUNS
1. Remember that hidden areas suchas those behind walls, ceilings,floors, soffit boards
andother panels may containflammable materials thatcould be accidentally ignited
whenstripping paint from the panel.Such a fire would not be readily apparent,and could
causeconsiderable damageand danger of injury. Theseheat guns are capable of
producingtemperaturesin excess of 1000° F (538° C).
2. Do not use this tool as a hair dryer.
3. Allow the tool to cool before storing.Do not lay the heat gun on flammablesurfaces when
operatingthe gun or immediatelyafter shutting it off.Always set the gun on a flatlevel
surfaceso that the nozzletip is pointed upward.
4. Always use good quality scrapersand stripping knives.
5. Never obstruct the air intakeor nozzle outlet.
6. Be sure to direct the hot air blast ina safe direction; away from otherpeople or flammable
objects.
7. Keep fingers away from metal nozzle;it becomes very hot.
8. Donʼt touch the nozzle to any surfacewhile running or shortly afterrunning.
9. Avoid poking anything downinside the nozzle.
10.Know your work environment.Remember that areas behindsoffit board, ceilings,and
floorsmay contain highlyflammable materials. Checkthese areas before applyingheat.
11.Clean dry paint fromthe nozzle after use; it could ignite.
12.Clean your scraper bladefrequently during use; it couldignite.
13.Do not use the heat gun in combinationwith chemical strippers.
14.Do not use accessory nozzlesas scrapers.
