OATMEAL CHIP COOKIES
1/2 cup butter or shortening softened
1cup packed brown sugar
1egg
1teaspoon vanilla
1cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt
1cup quick oats, uncooked 1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels
In a large bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanil- la. Beat at low speed to blend ingredients (about 1/2 minute). Increase speed to high and beat until mixture is well blended (approximately 2 minutes). Add flour, baking soda, salt, oats, wheat germ, and chocolate morsels to creamed mixture.
Beat on medium speed to combine ingredients and increase to highest speed and beat until mixture is blended.
Preheat oven to 350 F. Drop by level tablespoonfuls 2” apart onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 13 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire rack to cool.
