Position yourself to avo id being caught
between the tool or side handle and walls
or posts. Should the bit become bound or
jammed in the w ork, the reaction torque of
the tool could crush your hand or leg.
If the bit becom es boun d in the
work pie ce, rele ase the trigger
immed iate ly, rev erse th e d irec tion of
rotation and slowly squeeze the trigger to
back out the bit. Be read y fo r a stron g
reaction torq ue. The dril l body will t end to
twist in the opposite direction as the drill bit is
rotating.
Do not grasp the tool or place your hands
too clos e to the spinning chuck or dri ll
bit. Your hand may be lacerated.
When installing a bit, insert the shank of
the bit well within the chuck. If the bit is
not inserted deep enough, the grip of the
chuck over the bit is reduced and the loss of
control is increased. After bit insertio n, pull
on bit to ensure it is locked.
Do n ot use dul l o r d amag ed bits an d
accessories. Dull or d amaged bits have a
greater tendency to bind in the workpiece.
When removing the bit from the tool avoid
cont act w ith skin a nd use prop er
protective gloves when grasping the bit or
accessory. Acces sories m ay be hot after
prolonged use.
Check to see th at k eys and adj ustin g
wren ches ar e r emo ved fro m t he dri ll
before switchin g the tool "ON". Keys or
wren ches ca n f ly awa y a t h igh vel oci ty

Do not run the drill while carryin g it at
your side. A spinning drill bit could become
entangled with clothing and injury may result.
Additional Safety Warnings
GFCI and person al pro tection devices like
electrician’s rubber gloves and footwear will
further enhance your personal safety.
Do not use AC only rated tools with a DC
power supply. While the tool may appear to
work, th e elec trical components of the AC
rated tool are likely to fail and create a hazard
to the operator.
Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil
and grea se. Slippery hands cannot safely
control the power tool.
Develop a periodic maintenance schedule
for y our t ool. When clea ning a to ol be
careful not to disassemble any portion of
the too l sinc e inte rnal w ires m ay be
misplaced or pinched or safety guard return
sprin gs may be im prop erly mo unted .
Certain cleaning agents such as gasoline,
carbon tet rachl oride , amm onia, etc . ma y
damage plastic parts.
Ensure t he swi tch is in the o ff posi tion
before inserting battery pack. Inserting the
battery pack into p ower tools that have the
switch on invites accidents.
