Starting and Operation (Continued)

Propelling the Mower

1.Start the engine. Refer to the Section entitled “Starting and Operation – Engine and Blade”.

2.Pull the drive handle lock lever (A, Figure 4) fully back to the unlock position.

3.Begin pushing the drive handle (B) forward to engage the wheel drive and propel the mower forward. Forward speed can be increased by pushing the drive handle farther forward, and decreased by pulling the drive handle back.

Handle Height Adjustment

The height of the mower handle can be adjusted as follows:

1.Remove the handle knobs, washers and carriage bolts from the lower handle (A, Figure 5).

2.Align the handle assembly with one of the three handle height adjustment holes (B) in the mounting brackets.

3.Replace the hardware removed in Step 1, tightening securely.

Stopping

1.Stop forward motion of the mower by pulling the drive handle fully back. Be sure to push the drive handle lock lever fully forward into the locked position.

2.Stop the engine and blade by releasing the blade control.

DO NOT attempt any maintenance, adjustments or service with engine and blade running. STOP engine and blade. Disconnect spark plug wire and secure away from spark plug. Engine and components are HOT. Avoid serious burns, allow sufficient time for all components to cool.
