General Purpose

XA1425-001

Standard PQ foot. Use for most sewing, including thick fabrics or seams; can be used with pin feed.

Machine Set-Up:

Feed dogs; use one of the three settings based on fabric and whether the pin feed is used. Adjust other settings for fabric used.

Materials Needed for Sample:

Linen-like fabric

General Sewing Directions:

Foot 1

Depending on the fabric, use one of two methods of basic sewing. The traditional method has the bobbin and top thread pulled out behind the foot and the foot lowered over the fabric. With the balance wheel toward you, lower the needle in the fabric and then step gently on the foot pedal. At the beginning and end of a seam, press the reverse stitch lever to backstitch. With the technology in machines such as the PQ1500S, in most cases the fabric can just be placed under the presser foot and sewn, without pulling the thread behind the foot. If the thread cutter was used previously, the thread will be long enough to catch when you start to sew.
