5 - 23 TROUBLESHOOTING AND ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

Caution

■Do not remove ink car tridges if you do not need to replace them.

If you do so, it may reduce the ink quantity and the DCP will not

know the quantity of ink left in the cartridge.

■Do not touch the cartridge i nsertion slots. If you do so, the ink

may stain your skin.

■If ink stains your skin or clothing, wash with soap or detergent

immediately.

■If you install an ink cartridge in the wrong color position, you must

clean the print head several times before you start printing (after

correcting the cartrid ge installation) because the co lors were

mixed.

■Once you open an ink ca rtridge, install it i n the DCP and use it up

within six months of insta llation. Use unopened ink car tridges by

the expiration date written on the cartridge package.

■Do not dismantle or tamper with the ink cartridge, this can cause

the ink to leak out of the cartr idge.

■Brother strongly recomme nds that you do not refill the in k

cartridges provided with your DCP. We also strongly recommend

that you continue to use only Genuine Brother Brand

replacement ink cartrid ges. Using or attempting to us e potentially

incompatible inks and/or cartridges in your DCP may cause

damage to the DCP itself an d/or it may result in unsatisfac tory

print quality. Our warranty coverage does not apply to any

problem that was caused by the use of unauthorized third party

ink and/or cartridges . To protect your investm ent and guarantee

your print quality please co ntinue to replace consumed ink

cartridges with only Genu ine Brother Branded Supplies.
