3Unpack the new toner cartridge. Place

the used toner cartridge into the

aluminum bag and discard it according

to local regulations.

4Gently rock the toner cartridge from side

to side five or six times to distribute the

toner evenly inside the cartridge.

5Remove the protective cover.

6Insert the new toner cartridge in the

drum unit until it clicks into place. If yo u

put it in properly, the lock lever will l ift

automatically.

7Clean the primary corona wire inside the

drum unit by gently sliding the blue tab

from right to left several times. Return

the blue tab to the Home position (▼)

before reinstalling the drum unit and

toner cartridge assembly.

8Install the drum unit and toner cartridge

assembly in the machine.

9Close the front cover.

CAUTION

■Wait to unpack the toner cartridge until

immediately before you install it in th e

machine. If a toner cartridge is left

unpacked for a long period of time, the

toner life is shortened.

■Do not touch the shaded parts shown

in the illustrations to prevent any

degradation to the print quality.
