For Mac OS® X usersYou need to install the PS driver using the following instructions.
■If a Brother Native Driver (MFC-XXX) is already listed in
Printer list, you will need to delete it and then install the PS
driver.
■To use the PS driver with a USB cable, you need to set the
Emulation to BR-Script3 (For MFC-8440, MFC-8640D,
MFC-8840D and MFC-8840DN, Menu, 4, 1. DCP-8040 and
DCP-8045D, Menu, 3, 1.) before connecting the USB
cable. (See Setting the Emulation Selection on page 1-17.)

Select Applications from the Go menu.

Open the Utilities folder.
■If you use a USB cable and your Macintosh® is “Mac OS® X”,
only one printer driver for a machine can be registered in
Print Center.
