Upgrading Your Machine’s Software
You can use a computer to download software upgrades for your sewing machine.
Visit our website at www.brother.com for notification of available updates.
Note
zThere may be multiple upgrade files. Be sure to download all files in the correct order.
zIf an upgrade file for a different model is downloaded from the Brother Web site, the machine may not operate correctly. Therefore, download the upgrade file for this model again.
Memo
zWhile the software is being upgraded, the buzzer will not sound when a key is pressed.

aWhile holding 
(Settings key) pressed, turn on the machine.
XThe following screen appears.
bPlug the USB cable connectors into the corresponding USB ports on the computer and on the machine.
XThe “Removable Disk” icon appears in “My Computer” on the computer.
cCopyDisk”.the first upgrade file to “Removable
XThe message “Connected to PC. Do not disconnect the USB cable.” appears.

Note
zIf an error occurred, an error message appears. At this time, turn the machine off,
and then start the procedure again from step
a.
iDisconnect the USB cable, and turn the machine off, then on again.
