4-6 Removal of the Weight Kit

A.Remove t he colle ction ho se and bo ot a ssembly from the deck and the inlet tube by loosening the hose clamp and sliding the hos e off the inlet tube..

B.Raise the top and re move bags, if ba gs con tain

debris e mpty them. Lay bags aside and close t op. With t he aid of anoth er worker l ift the grass catcher frame an d top assembly fr om the hitch.

NOTE: The grass catcher hitch does not need to be removed from the mower.

C. Re-attach the origina l grass delector. Refer to (Figure 18). If t he original grass defl ector has been misplaced, lost or d amaged plea se see your nearest Bush Hog Dea ler and order a repl acement gr ass deflecto r kit before opera ting this machine.

be removed when the ZT is in use without

A.Begin by removing the two pan he ad s crews that secure the foot panel t o the fra me front cr ossmember (Figure 2). Retain the fa steners for reinstallation. Lift the floor panel off the frame and lay aside for reinstalla- tion.

B.Remove the weight from the weigh t brackets S ee (Figure 4).

NOTE: The front wei ght is 3 ” x 4” x 18” long and weighs a pproxim ately 60 pounds. If you are not capable of lifting 60 pounds with ease , get he lp to perform this step.

C.Remove the weight mounting brackets.

D. Re-install the foot panel.

MAINTENANCE

5-1 Maintenance Checklist

Before each use:

1. Check blades and spindles to be sure that no for-

ei gn objects, such as wire or st eel strapping bands, are wrapped around them.

2.Inspect blades for wear. Replace if nec essary. If it

is necessar y to sharpen blad es, re mov e the blad es from th e s pindl es b efo re sharpen ing. DO

NOT shar pen blades while still attac hed to the mower.

3.Make sure all shi elds are i n pla ce a nd in g ood condition. Rep air or re pla ce any missing or d am- aged shields.

4.Listen for abnor mal sounds , which mig ht indicate

loose parts, damaged bearings, or other dam - age.Correct any deficiency before continuing operation.

5.Check for wear or deterioration of the hose. If there are any porti ons of the ho se th at have been tor n or worn through, replace with genuine BUSH HOG parts.
