Step 4: CHOOSE MODE
If toasting BREAD, the toaster is ready for operation. Move to step 5.
Press the Bagel button for sliced bagels. Once pressed, the button will illuminate. When selecting the bagel mode, only the inside heating elements are turned on in each toasting unit. This effectively toasts the cut sides of the bagel without overbrowning the exterior.
Press the Defrost button for frozen breads or pastries. Once pressed, the button will illuminate. When selecting the defrost mode the toaster begins by thawing the frozen item and then automatically toasting it to the desired level of browning. Quickly inspect frozen toaster pastries or strudels to make sure they are not leaking any filling.
Press the Reheat button if you’ve already toasted something and want to quickly reheat it for serving. Once pressed, the button will illuminate. You do not need to make a shade selection for this mode, since this is simply a reheating mode and not a browning process.
