General Safety Information (cont’d.)

Do not expose

power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

Do not abuse

the cord. Never use the cord for carry- ing, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.

When operat-

Double insulated tools are equipped with a polarized plug. This plug will fit in a polarized outlet one way only. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install a polarized outlet. Do not change the plug in any way. Double insulation eliminates the need for the three wire grounded power cord and grounded power supply system.

Personal Safety:

Stay alert, watch

what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired

If devices

are pro-

vided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and prop- erly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.

• Do not misuse this product. Excessive

exposure to vibration, work in

awkward positions, and repetitive

work motions can cause injury to

hands and arms. Stop using any tool

if discomfort, numbness, tingling, or

pain occur, and consult a physician.

• Always work in a well-ventilated area.

Wear an OSHA-approved dust mask.

Mantenimiento

use reduces the risk of electric shock.

If operat- ing a

power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (GFCI) protected supply. Use of a GFCI reduces the risk of electric shock.

• Hold power tool by insulated gripping

surfaces when performing an operation

where the cutting tool may contact

hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact

while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.

Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equip-

ment such as dust mask, non-skid safe- ty shoes, hard hat, or hearing protec- tion used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.

Do not force the

power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.

Do not use the

power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that can- not be controlled with the switch is

• Never pull the cord to disconnect

from receptacle. Pull the plug at the

wall rather than the cord when

disconnecting saw.

• Make sure cord is located so that it

will not be stepped on, tripped over,

or otherwise subjected to damage or

stress.

• Do not use an extension cord unless

absolutely necessary. Use of improper

extension cord could result in a risk of

fire and electric shock. If an extension

cord must be used, make sure:

1. That the size of the cord is at least as

specified in chart titled “Minimum

Wire Size (AWG) of Extension Cord

for Recipricating Saw.”

2. That the pins on plug of extension

cord are the same number, size and

shape as those of plug on saw.

3. That the extension cord is properly

wired and in good electrical

condition.

4. If an extension cord is to be used

Prevent uninten- tional starting. Ensure the switch is in

the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, pick- ing up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.

Remove any

adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.

Do not overreach. Keep prop- er footing and balance at all

times. This enables better

control of the power tool in unexpect- ed situations.

Dress properly.

Do not wear loose clothing or jew- ellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.

dangerous and must be repaired.

Disconnect the plug

from the power source and/or the bat- tery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.

Store idle power

tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

Maintain power

tools. Check for misalignment or bind- ing of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.

Notas

outdoors it must be marked with the

suffix “W-A” or “W” following the

cord type designation to indicate it is

acceptable for outdoor use. For

example – SJTW-A.
