Using AF to Focus
2Focus the subject.
Aim the AF point over the subject and
press the shutter button halfway.
XThe Live View image will turn off, the
reflex mirror will go back down, and
AF will be executed.
XWhen focus is achieved, the beeper
will sound and the AF point will be
displayed in red. (If automatic AF
point selection has been set, the AF
point which achieves focus will flash
in red.)
XThe Live View image will
automatically reappear.
3Take the picture.
Check the focus and exposure, then
press the shutter button completely to
take the picture (p.127).

You cannot take a picture during autofocusing. Take the picture only while
the Live View image is displayed.
