Changing Shooting Function Settings
If you set the mode switch to 4, and the mode to G, you can change the settings in the 4 tab (p. 46).
Before attempting to shoot using a function explained in this section in modes other than G, check if the function is available in those modes (pp. 192 – 193).
Switching the Focus Setting
The camera focuses on whatever it is aimed at even when you do not press the shutter button. However, you can set it so that the camera only focuses when the shutter button is pressed halfway.
zChoose [Continuous AF], then touch qr to choose [Off].
Since the camera focuses continuously
On until you press the shutter button halfway, it allows you to shoot without missing photo opportunities.
The camera does not focus
ffcontinuously, thereby conserving battery power.
Using the Touch Shutter Function
You can activate the Touch Shutter function so you can shoot by touching the screen.
zChoose [Touch Shutter], then touch qrto choose [On].
zFollow Steps 2 – 3 on p. 27 to shoot.
• The Touch Shutter function operates in the same way as when pressing the shutter button, but cannot be used with the following functions:
AF lock (p. 97), AE lock (p. 99), FE lock (p. 99)
•When shooting in e or u (p. 91) with the AF frame mode set to [Face Detect], using the Touch Shutter function returns the camera to

•Only one shot will be taken when Touch Shutter is set to [On] in 
mode (p. 79) or when W has been selected (p. 88).
