Changing the Metering Method

Adjust the metering method (how brightness is measured) to suit shooting conditions as follows.

	zzPress the <	> button, choose the
	desired option (either press the <q><r>
	buttons or turn the <7> dial), and then
	press the <	> button again.
	XXThe option you configured is now
	displayed.

Evaluative	For typical shooting conditions, including backlit shots.
Evaluative	Automatically adjusts exposure to match the shooting conditions.

Center	Determines the average brightness of light across the entire
Center	image area, calculated by treating brightness in the central area
Weighted Avg.

Spot	Metering restricted to within the [		] (Spot AE Point frame).
	Metering restricted to within the [		] (Spot AE Point frame).
	You can also link the Spot AE Point frame to the AF frame (see
