Changing the Focus Setting

You can change default camera operation of constantly focusing on subjects it is aimed at, even when the shutter button is not pressed. Instead, you can limit camera focusing to the moment you press the shutter button halfway.

zzPress the <n> button, choose [Continuous AF] on the [4] tab, and then choose [Off] (=48).

Helps avoid missing sudden photo On opportunities, because the camera

constantly focuses on subjects until you press the shutter button halfway.

Choosing a Person to Focus On (Face Select)

You can shoot after choosing a specific person’s face to focus on.

1Set the AF frame to [Face AiAF] (=145).2Enter Face Select mode.

zzAim the camera at the person’s face and press the <> button.

XXAfter [Face Select : On] is displayed, a face frame [] is displayed around the face detected as the main subject.

zzEven if the subject moves, the face frame

[] follows the subject within a certain range.

zzIf a face is not detected, [] is not displayed.
