List of Messages that Appear on the Screen

If error messages appear on the LCD monitor, try one of the following solutions.

No memory card

The memory card is not installed in the correct direction. Install the memory card in the correct direction (p. 12).

Card locked!

The SD memory card or SDHC memory card’s write protect tab is set to “Lock”. Unlock the write protect tab (p. 15).

Cannot record!

You attempted to shoot an image without a memory card, or with a memory card installed incorrectly. Install the memory card in the correct direction when shooting (p. 12).

Memory card error (p. 50)

If this error message appears even when using the supplied memory card, contact your Canon Customer Support Help Desk as there may be a problem with the camera.

Memory card full

There is not enough free space on the memory card to shoot (pp. 20, 51, 63, 75) or edit images (pp. 98 100). Erase the images (pp. 24, 97) to open space for new images, or insert an empty memory card (p. 12).

Change the battery (p. 12) No image.

There are no images recorded on the memory that can be displayed.

Protected! (p. 96) Unidentified Image/Incompatible JPEG/Image too large./RAW

Unsupported images or data, or corrupted image data cannot be displayed.

Images manipulated on a computer, that have had their file name changed, or have been taken with a different camera may not display.

Cannot magnify!/Cannot rotate/Cannot modify image/Unselectable image

Incompatible images cannot be magnified (p. 94), rotated (p. 97), edited (pp. 98

100) or added to a print list (p. 102).

Images manipulated on a computer, that have had their file name changed, or have been taken with a different camera may not be magnified, rotated, edited or added to a print list.

Movies cannot be magnified (p. 94).

Too many marks.

You selected more than 998 images to send in print settings. Select less than 998 images (p. 102).
