Image Brightness (Exposure Compensation)

• You can also shoot still images with exposure compensation bar displayed.

• While recording a movie, &is displayed, and the exposure is locked.

•You can also adjust brightness by touching #, and then touching qr.

Locking Image Brightness/Exposure (AE Lock)

Before shooting, you can lock the exposure, or you can specify focus and exposure separately.

Set the flash to !(p. 106).Lock the exposure.

z Aim the camera at the subject to shoot with the exposure locked. With the shutter button pressed halfway, press the r button.

X& is displayed, and the exposure is locked.

zTo unlock AE, release the shutter button and press the r button again. In this case, &is no longer displayed.

Compose the shot and shoot.

A3400 IS

• Cannot be used with Touch Shutter (p. 65).

• AE: Auto Exposure
