z Adjust the zoom setting before shooting. The combined digital and optical zoom factor will display on the LCD monitor. When the zoom factor displays in blue, the image will deteriorate.

zYou can perform the following operations before shooting the movie.

-AF lock: If you press the MF button, auto focus will be fixed

at the current state. The icon and MF indicator appear on the LCD monitor, and you can confirm the distance between the subject and lens. You can cancel by pressing the MF button again.

-Manual focus (p. 130)

-AE lock and exposure shift: this is effective on ski slopes and the beach when the contrast is too strong between the subject and background or where there are both light and dark areas in the scene and it is desirable to adjust the exposure.

1Press the button.

The exposure will lock (AE lock) and the exposure shift

bar will appear in the LCD monitor.

2.Use the control dial to adjust the exposure.

Press the button again to release the setting. Also, the setting will be canceled if you press the MENU button or change the white balance, My Colors or shooting mode settings.
