Note

ξThis watch does not have a city code that corresponds to Newfoundland.

1.Press and hold the crown button (without unlocking the crown) for at least two seconds.

ξThis will enter the Timekeeping Mode (page E-42).

2.Unlock the crown and then pull it out.

ξThis will cause the x Second Hand to move to the city code of the currently selected Home City.

ξThis indicates the city code setting mode.

E-45

ξIf you do not perform any operation with the crown

for about three minutes after pulling it out, crown

operations will become disabled and the watch

hands will no longer move when you rotate the crown.

If this happens, push the crown back in and then pull

it out again.

ξ For details about city codes, see the “City Code

Table” at the back of this manual.

3. Rotate the crown to move the x Second Hand to the city code you want to select as your Home City.

ξEach time you change to a different city code, the z Hour Hand, c Minute Hand, and n Day move

to the current time and date for that city code. Also, the v Mode Disk rotates until the mode pointer is pointing at STD, STD-AT, DST, or DST-AT(see step 4 of this procedure below).

4. Press Ato toggle the currently selected city code

between standard time and daylight saving time.

ξ In the city code setting mode, the v Mode Disk

indicates STD (standard time) or DST (daylight

saving time).

ξ Note that an AT setting (STD-AT or DST-AT) will be

indicated only if the currently selected city code is

one that supports time calibration signal reception.

ξWhile AT is selected, the watch will switch between STD and DST automatically in accordance with time calibration signal data.

ξThe initial default setting is STD-ATwhen any one of the following city codes is selected as the Home City code: LON (LONDON), PAR (PARIS), ATH (ATHENS), NYC (NEW YORK), CHI (CHICAGO), DEN (DENVER), LAX (LOS ANGELES), ANC (ANCHORAGE), or TYO (TOKYO).

ξFor details about the Daylight Saving Time setting, see “Daylight Saving Time (DST)” (page E-48).

The time calibration signals transmitted from Mainfl ingen (Germany), Anthorn (England), or Fort Collins (the United States) include both Standard Time and DST data.
