The initial factory default image size setting is 12M (12 million pixels).

Selecting “3:2” records images with an aspect ratio of 3:2, which matches the standard aspect ratio of print paper.

The letters “HDTV” stand for “High Definition Television”. An HDTV screen has an aspect ratio of 16:9, which makes them wider than the usual 4:3 aspect ratio of television screens of the past. Your camera can record images that are compatible with the aspect ratio an HDTV screen.

You should regard the print paper sizes suggested here as guidelines only (200 dpi print resolution).

Available image sizes are limited for some functions as noted below.

 

This image size cannot be selected while certain recording modes*1 or

12M

BEST SHOT scenes*2 are in use. If “12M” is selected in another mode,

switching to one of these modes or BEST SHOT scenes will cause the

 

 

image size to change to “10M” automatically.

 

These image sizes cannot be selected while certain recording modes*1

3:2,

or BEST SHOT scenes*2 are in use. If “3:2” or “16:9” is selected in

another mode, switching to one of these modes or BEST SHOT scenes

16:9

will cause the image size to change to “10M” automatically. If the “CS

 

 

mode” setting is “F CS”, the image size setting will change to “12M”.

 

This image size can be selected only while certain recording modes*1

10M

or BEST SHOT scenes*2 are in use. If the “10M” image size is selected

with one of modes or BEST SHOT scenes, switching to another mode

 

 

will cause the image size to change to “12M” automatically.

 

 

The following image sizes cannot be selected while shooting with High Speed CS: “12M”, “3:2”, “16:9”. Entering the High Speed CS mode while any one of these image sizes is selected will cause the image size setting to change to “10M” automatically.

The following image sizes cannot be selected while shooting with the F CS mode: “3:2”, “16:9”. Entering the F CS mode while one of the above is selected will cause the image size setting to change to “12M” automatically.
