Using the memories

Remember!

You must clear the memory before you place anything in the memory. If you forget to clear the memory the calculator will add the new value to the value that is already in the memory. The instructions for clearing the memory are on page 16.

1In which of the following calculators is a number stored in the memory?

2Clear the memory on your calculator and place the value of π in the memory. Use the Jmpbuttons to determine the value of the following expressions. Express each answer correct to 2 decimal places.

3Store the result of the calculation 3 + 8.1 in the memory, then determine the value of each expression.

A (3 + 8.1) × 4.5

4In Australia a 10% GST is added to prices to determine the final selling price. Increasing an amount by 10% is the same as multiplying the amount by 1.1. Place 1.1 in the calculator’s memory then determine the final price of each item.
